Excellent service, always.
Went in with a problem caused by a Stevenage auto centre. Problem diagnosed and sorted at reasonable cost. Since then I have used Ashcroft several times. Always reliable, capable and honest. I will use them as my main service garage.
If you want a stress free service DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE! I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE. DISRESPECTFUL. BAD LANGUAGE.LACK OF REASONABLE SKILL AND CARE. IMCOMPETENT. So lucky I cant give 0 stars! On 21/12/17 I took my Astra into the garage because noise was coming from rear brakes. Also asked to do a health check, tyres oil etc as I was going to do long journeys. While they had my car they called to say the brakes needs to be deglazed and cleaned. Also oil pressure switch needs replacing.I said Ok. They done both jobs.. 22/12/17 I went from Hertfordshire to Lincolnshire. Oil light flickered and went off and then engine light came on.. Same day noise started to appear from rear brakes again. This time I thought better run diagnostics with Vauxhall as they are the manufacturer. On 09/01/18 Vauxhall servicing team ran a diagnostics.. according to them, codes came up which they thought would need a visual inspection. The technician stated to his supervisor that the oil pressure is leaking oil, forcing oil down oil pressure switch into ecu. EVEN REPORTED this in writing. Vehicle needs new ecu and wiring harness!!!!So I picked up my Astra and took it from Vauxhall straight to Ashcroft Autocare.Explained to Roy I was unhappy (clearly) he could see I was anyway. I stated that I wanted them to fixed the problems they have caused.(Including the noise again from the brakes)He said he will take a look and see what he can do tomorrow. We had a dispute about timing but couldnt come to an agreement where I was satisfied. Around 5.30pm same day, Roy left a voicemail. I called back and he stated nothing is wrong with the oil pressure switch nothing is leaking.I asked if he had sorted the problem with the ecu. He said no. The oil pressure switch is fine. Thats not the problem. And that I have misunderstood Vauxhall. We obviously didnt agree on this because I said well it shouldnt be leaking now because I asked you to sort it and thats what you have clearly done.. but I still want you to sort the issue that has occurred from this. Roy proceeded to deny that the oil switch was never incorrectly fitted. I said Ill speak with you tomorrow about it when I pick the vehicle up.10/1/18 I pick up my car.. Roy wanted to show me where the oil pressure switch is and has been fitted correctly. And where the ecu is. He asked me how can oil get from there to the ecu? I said Im not a mechanic? He then stated that when he done a visual check the oil switch the fitted correctly. I said no you have fixed it because I have asked you to, a technician at Vauxhall wouldnt make it up! Roy got annoyed and started to even use bad language towards me! And when I said dont speak to me like that. He said it was ok because someone my age has obviously used it before! I asked if they had checked my brakes again. He said no I may know the reason but there's no point now! So that wasnt completed either! Im thinking they was so worried about sorting out the oil pressure switch. They ignored my brakes! STILL NOISE!I had to leave because he then refused to even speak to me and went into his office. I told him that he was being unreasonable and very unprofessional. Obviously Im currently in the middle of taking this further.
Just used Ashcroft for the first time. This was to remove and dispose of the factory fitted large twin exhaust system from my VXR8 and fit a stainless system I supplied. Great service & very reasonably priced and no problems at all. Will certainly be returning and would happily recommend.EDIT: Returned several times since above review and I'll continue to recommend their work and service to anyone that asks. First Class.
Used Ashcroft for over 10 years and always been happy with the results. You can trust them, and being small, offer a very personal service. Highly recommended.
