We have been visiting the Cowper Arms for well over ten years. It is a super village pub. Great atmosphere, food is very good and plentiful, lovely staff who really go the extra to make you feel welcome. People make a place and this pub is full of friendly people, we see families with children, couples, work colleagues, friends out socialising... The Cowper Arms caters to everyone. Winter there is a roaring log fire, summer there is plenty of outside seating and a new secret garden! Oh and it is also very doggy friendly! We would not go anywhere else, and there are plenty of nice pubs to choose from around the villages.
Food and beer are great here. Often go there with a close friend as miles better than any pub in Welwyn
Food was very good, would recommend the chicken and tarragon pie. Nice atmosphere and service was ok. Good place for a family lunch.
It's a great local. Food bill can rack up but portion sizes are generous. Good atmosphere. Try quiz night or steak Mondays.
As always food and service was excellent, the only downside of a visit to the Cowper is the lack of a good pint of ale. They have one decent pint (Forty Arches) unfortunately even this ale has tasted like vinegar on my last few visits. Sounds like they need to clean the pipes and take more care of their beer. Hoping for a better pint on my next visit.
