I have a dental phobia and avoid dentist. Joined a month ago and can honestly say the gentleman who treated me was amazing. I actually had a filling today without sedation. I feel able to continue treatment for the first time in 30 years. Can not recommend enough.
I have always felt the practice manager, though very sweet, rushed my appointments, and failed to contact me with information about a tooth in almost 4 months. She did not return calls or messages left. I recently had the tooth extracted and given a denture to wear. I felt that I was given very little information on this life changing procedure and on more than one occasion was rushed in and out. When I had the denture fitted I was given very little information (though I managed to find a leaflet on caring for dentures in the waiting room). Each time I would leave an appointment with100 questions I never got to ask, never mind the stress and anxiety having a denture was causing. When putting in a detailed complaint and request to see another dentist my concerns and worries were not dealt with adequately or with any understanding and I was politely told to find another practice. I have since done so and am very satisfied and happy with the Service and attention to detail I now receive. Poor poor care but an excellent reception team.
I have been with this surgery since the days of Mr Whiting, in other words, 40+ years. I couldn't fault Mr Whiting nor Graham Bridge who took over from Mr Whiting.Since Mr Bridge retired though, I have not been very happy with the treatment provided and have now moved to another practice. In previous years a client was always able to get an emergency appointment, either just after 9.00 or 13.00, today I learned from a couldn't careless receptionist that they no longer had emergency appointments but she did me the great favour of taking 10 minutes off another persons appointment for late afternoon. I have to wonder why if they have a board outside saying they are able to take on new patients, they are unable to provide some sort of emergency care for people who have been with them for over 40 years. Perhaps, also, if the present dentist had been half as good and or listened to what his patient wanted, then they may not have need of an emergency service. Sorry but you can keep your 10 minute appointment after a year of treatment on a tooth that has now lead to requiring emergency treatment.
Well I cant say as I loved the treatment but Nick, my new hygienist is a delight, professional and very good at putting me at my ease. He made what I find a daunting experience pass quickly and relatively painlessly - I have hope that my future isn't a toothless one!
I had gum surgery one year ago for the gum disease I had. I cannot believe it has been a year already!! I am so happy with you and your team and the entire experience it was almost fun! I still look forward to my visits to Handside Dental Surgery for my regular dental cleaning, and I am so pleased with my gums. You are wonderful and I am ready to tell anyone I know in need of dental care about YOU! Thank you again!
